Therapy
Hypnosis, NLP, Time Line Therapy™ and EFT are probably some of the most
powerful therapeutic tools and processes that are available today for personal
change and healing.
Clinical Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring altered state of awareness
or “consciousness”,different from the normal waking state. A person in
a hypnotic state is at a heightened state of awareness and does hear
what is being said and suggested and does know what is happening.
The person is usually very deeply relaxed, the kind of state you
are in just before you fall asleep. The state of hypnosis is sometimes
referred to as a trance state. It is essential to remember that the client
ALWAYS retain control and can and sometimes does choose not to
accept the suggestions offered.
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. I can understand why people believe
it is magic.
Hypnotist
Most hypnotists use hypnosis mainly for entertainment and anyone
can call themselves a hypnotist, often after a day or a weekend
workshop.
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis in therapy and is one of the
most natural and powerful processes of affecting beneficial change.
The use of hypnosis for healing and nurturing humanity has been
around for thousands of years in places like Egypt and India.
Clinical Hypnotherapy
A hypnotherapist may or may not be formally trained to deal with
clinical conditions such as Anxiety, Panic Depression…while a
Clinical hypnotherapist does have to undergo in depth training
and supervision to deal with clinical conditions and usually hold a
practitioner Diploma from a reputable organisation and are regulated.
What happens during a hypnotherapy session?
During a hypnotherapy session, you are gently guided to relax your
body as well as your thinking mind, (which kind of takes a little “nap”),
during which the suggestions for beneficial changes can be made to
your unconscious mind. This is the reason why hypnotherapy is so
effective in changing unwanted behaviours.
Clinical hypnosis is a very powerful and invaluable tool for
mind body healing (and I KNOW, as I have myself used it extensively
in overcoming cancer in 2006!)

and Master practitioner of Hypnosis.
NLP ( Neuro Linguistic Programming)
NLP is a model of communication as to how we communicate with
ourselves and others.
The model was developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in
the 1970s. It was the result of modelling excellence of therapists such
as Milton Erickson M D, Virginia Satir a family therapist, and others
who excelled at what they did at that time. They discovered the special
way these experts used language in communication. Milton Erickson,
a medical doctor, excelled in using hypnotherapy successfully to treat
his patients over a period of some sixty years.
The model developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder is based
on how we process information coming in through our senses from
outside of us, and the way we give meaning to it and made sense
of the information.
The underlying belief in NLP is what Alfred Korzybski referred to
in his book “Science & Sanity” that: “The map is not the territory”
meaning that what we make of the information coming in through our
five senses from outside, is not the event itself.
NLP has evolved and developed considerably since its origins in
the 1970s, partly because it enables us to seek better ways on an
ongoing basis.
NOTE: Although NLP is widely used in many ways and in therapy,
it is NOT a therapy in itself. It is used in therapy to communicate with
the client more affectively to get to the bottom of things.
Some examples of the scope of NLP can be illustrated by the following:
“NLP cannot be dismissed as just another hustle. Its theoretical
underpinnings represent an ambitious attempt to codify and synthesize
the insights of linguistics, body language, and the study of
communication systems.” Psychology Today
Times Magazine described NLP as having untapped potential for
treating individual problems.
Training & Development Journal reported that NLP offers the
potential for making changes without the usual agony that
accompanies these changes and that it allows for increasing options,
flexibility, creativity and therefore greater freedom of action than
most of us know.

Time Line Therapy™
What is Time Line Therapy™?
Time Line Therapy™ is a simple but a powerful process that has
evolved from hypnosis and NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming,
developed byTad James PhD. (Marion trained with Tad James).
Time Line Therapy™ enable clients to release and clear negative
emotions (such as: anger, rage, hurt, sadness, fear, resentment,
envy, guilt, remorse, etc.) as well as unhealthy limiting beliefs
they hold from the past, so that they can live in the present and
create their future in the way they want to experience it.
Having trained in different therapies and interventions including
CBT, in my experience,TLT enables the clients to resolve their
issues for good and considerably faster than any other talk/brief
therapy.
Time Line Therapy ™(not to be confused with Time Line – in NLP),
for example is the most effective therapeutic process available,
to heal up painful emotions and limiting beliefs in your past,
comfortably, quickly with lasting results.
As a certified Trainer and master practitioner of Time Line Therapy™
having and practised it for the past twenty two years,
I find the process an invaluable tool especially for helping clients
with complex issues such as severe Trauma/PTSD, adults with
childhood abuse, other anxiety disorders and depression.
One of the most beneficial aspects of it is that the process allows
the client to release and clear out the whole chain of a particular
painful emotion within minutes ( unlike in conventional talk therapy
where people work on emotional issues hourly for weeks months and
even years and still not clearing the issues).
What TLT (combined with other processes I use ) enables the
client to do is to literally heal up their past!
TLT process does not involve a lot of talking and analysing.
It focuses on getting to the root cause/s of the issue then
releasing and clearing out any painful emotions attached to
your memories for good. Literally, healing up the past.
In my own Intensive Therapy Breakthrough Session that incorporates
Clinical hypnosis, NLP, Time Line Therapy™ together with
energy healing has enabled my clients (some of whom have previously
been in conventional and other talk therapy for several years), to get
results they want within a few hours. This is one of the main reasons
why I do not offer hourly sessions for complex emotional or issues
involving both emotional and physical issues.

EMDR
EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing is a
powerful process developed in the 1980s by a clinical psychologist
Dr Francine Shapiro.
Much research has been done which shows that EMDR is an effective
process for treating severe trauma such as PTSD, rape, childhood
abuse including (physical/sexual/emotional abuse, neglect,
abandonment), accidents and surgical trauma, to name but a few.
It is also often used for anxiety, panic and phobia.
With most distressing events we have the ability to process it normally.
However, when we are overwhelmed by the distressing event that
memory becomes frozen at a neurological level and often the person
may want to avoid thinking about it to avoid re-experiencing painful
feelings the distressing memory evokes.
Sometimes something in their environment such as a smell, music etc.
can trigger the painful memory. EMDR uses alternating left-right
stimulation of the brain with eye movements (like in the rapid eye in REM
sleep) tapping or sounds, which is said to access the blocked information
processing. By processing painful memories, they become less
intense/painful like ordinary memories.

(Hawaiian process of forgiveness) and and Higher self Therapy.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT as it is commonly known is a
simplified therapeutic approach by Gary Craig in the 1990s, developed
from Thought Field Therapy- the previous work of Dr Roger Callahan.
It is a simple a and practical procedure for self-help purposes.
EFT works on the meridians and combines stimulation by tapping
on acupressure points with affirmations. EFT can be learnt within a in
a short time and is a valuable, practical self-help tool.
EFT also uses some conventional psychological approaches of
identifying and acknowledging the issue as well as reframing
unhealthy thoughts as well as tapping sequences on the acupressure
points and affirmations.
EFT is a form of energy healing and is based on working on the meridians
(originating from ancient Chinese medicine) or energy systems similar to
that of chi or qi, life force energy (as in Hawaiian healing), and prana, etc.
Chi, life force energy or prana is energy that runs through meridians or
channels through our body. It is believed that when we get sick or unwell,
unable to cope with daily challenges and overreact to situations
it is said that the energy is out of balance in our body. EFT is said to
restore that balance in the meridian system in relation to a specific issue.
I often teach clients EFT as a coping tool or strategy in my workshops,
retreats and in therapy, as it is a practical tool that anyone can learn and
practice on themselves.
One of the limitations if I could call that , is that it is a short term
solution if you have complex issues/problems to work on. Nevertheless
its value cannot be understated.
